Per M means per thousand, M being the Roman numeral for one thousand.
In what format may I receive MMS lists?
MMS’s standard format is a comma delimited file delivered by e-mail. Fixed-length or Excel spreadsheet formats are available for up to 65,000-record lists. Note: NOWW (SM) system users who download lists receive tab-delimited files.
Labels are also available—our standard label formats are “4-up” Cheshire (plain paper labels which must be applied by a Cheshire machine) or “4-up” pressure-sensitive (peel and stick, self-adhesive).
MMS Additional List Service and Material Charges apply to all these formats. See Web site or inquire for specifics.

Why does MMS require sample direct marketing pieces?
We are contractually obligated by the owners of the lists we manage to obtain samples of any marketing communications to be disseminated using their data for advance review and approval. This pertains to direct mail pieces, telemarketing scripts, and broadcast fax copy. E-mail communications are also subject to advance approval.
What will my response rate be?
Due to the wide range of variables that determine response rates in a marketing program, rates vary from campaign to campaign. The actual product that you are selling, the creative content of your mail piece or telemarketing script, how you present it in your offering, and your timing, are all part of the equation--the list is only one part that contributes to your success.
What deliverability rater can I expect?
MMS guarantees the AMA physicians list to be 99% deliverable (see data card for details). Other MMS managed lists are generally at least 95% deliverable.
