The mission of MMS's Center for Healthcare Market Research Data, through collaboration with the American Medical Association (AMA), is the fulfillment of current and historical AMA data requests for certain academic, governmental, private sector, and other healthcare research projects.

| AMA data available from the Center include |
 |
- Physician Data - The primary resource is the AMA's vast historical holdings of Physician Masterfile "year-end" files from 1978-2006 inclusive.1 In addition, the latest version of the AMA Physicians Professional Data (AMA-PPD) Masterfile extract is available for data access and random sample selection. Also available are the UPIN directory’s demographic data and identification numbers.
- Group Practice Data - The American Medical Association’s recently upgraded Medical Group Practice file is linked to the AMA-PPD.

- Longitudinal analysis of physician characteristics and distribution
- Office MaximizerSM, a tool to maximize identification of physicians' professional (versus residential) addresses by using AMA-PPD and Group Practice data.
- Physician profiling by Enhanced Survey Data (ESD)2 such as languages spoken
- Retired/Inactive/Deceased Physician Tracking for legal or other purposes
- Sampling services including random sample selection or sample framing
- Special tabulations of physician distribution by specialty, type of practice, geographic location, et al., for example, interstate physician mobility analyses pursuant to state governmental studies of medical school graduate retention, professional liability premium impact studies, etc.; and custom variations of tabulations found in the AMA's Physician Characteristics and Distribution (PCD) series.
